Harper’s BazaarUKhas partnered with artist Rachel Spelling on a creative collaboration centred on an original artwork drawing inspiration from Bazaar’s 150-year archive.
Known for her meticulous hand-painted miniatures on paint charts, Spelling has created a bespoke piece titled Shades of Flat and Lustre Finishes. Comprising 72 individual paint chips, the work explores the ideas, imagery and attitude that have defined Harper’s Bazaar throughout the decades. The artwork will be unveiled in three stages across successive issues of Harper’s Bazaar UK, beginning in the September issue, out today. The final work will be revealed on 08 October via a roll fold in Bazaar’s art-themed November issue, when 300 limited-edition prints will go on sale at studiospelling.com. The collaboration marks the first time Harper’s Bazaar UK has made prints available to purchase.
As part of the partnership, Spelling will create a Harper’s Bazaar UK Christmas card, which will be available to purchase from 03 September. The artist will also co-host two events: an intimate breakfast for Bazaar Privé members at House of Hearst in central London, and an exclusive dinner at Mark’s Club in Mayfair as part of the 2026 Bazaar Art Party.
