Cosmopolitan UK brings back CosmoGIRL in multi-platform partnership with Universal Pictures International UK & Eire Limited and Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Cosmopolitan UK and Universal Pictures International UK & Eire Limitedhave partnered on a multi-platform campaign spanning bespoke print, experiential and social-first content to mark the release of Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (in cinemas 1 April).

The campaign sees the return of CosmoGIRL for the first time in almost 20 years. Fronted by beloved Super Mario character Rosalina, the limited-edition magazine was distributed at shopping centres including Westfield Stratford, the Trafford Centre in Manchester and the Metrocentre in Gateshead on 30 March, as well as across high streets in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester on 31 March.

The collector’s issue features an exclusive interview with Oscar-winning actor Brie Larson, who voices Rosalina, plus an in-depth guide to the film alongside horoscopes and nostalgia-fuelled Cosmo flowcharts.

Cosmopolitan also brought Club Cosmo members together for an exclusive screening of the film at The Cinema at Selfridges on 31 March.

Creators Rosie Okotcha, Meg Hughes and Rosie Caddick joined the campaign to produce social-first content around the screening, including a Rosalina-inspired “get ready with me”, a “come with me” video exploring community and female fandom, and a play-along Super Mario quiz.
